NEW ARRANGEMENTS' MADE. By TelepTanh.—Press Association. Wellington, July I'2. The Postmaster-General announces that lie Ims just made arrangements with the cable companies with reganl to soldiers' messages as follow: (1) Persons in New Zealand may send, at the rates for such messages, "Soldiers' Weekend" (EP.M) cable messages to soldiers in Egypt and the United Kingdom, with instructions to reply at the cost of the New Zealand senders. Sueli instructions must appear as the last text word, thus "Reply RTF'. "RTP" means "The New Zealand receiver to pay," .and twelve is the greatest number of words that will be accepted in tiie reply. (2) The replies from the United Kingdom will not be accepted at telegraph offices in the United Kingdom, but nnly at the office of the High Commissioner for NeW Zealand in London. They must contain the last word "RTP," must be countersigned by the military authority under whose control the soldier is, and .must be addressed by post at United Kingdom inland rates to the High Commissioner for New Zealand, Westminster Chambers, 13 Victoria Street, London, -S.W. The High Commissioner will provide for their despatch to New Zealand. | (.'!) The replies from Egypt must eon- { tain the last word- "RTP," and be countersigned liv a military authority at the place whence they are intended to lie despatched 'by telegraph. (4) Members of the New Zealand expeditionary force in the United Kingdom, but not in Egypt, may also send "El'M" messages to New Zealand without the receipt of any preliminary message from New Zealand. They must be countersigned as prescribed in section i hereof. Thcv will be accepted at the same rates, but must not contain more than twelve words. They must contain the last word "RTP," and he sent to the High Commissioner by post at the same United Kingdom inland rates as prescribed in section i hereof. The soldier despatching*such a message will not 'be required to pay for it, 'but the receiver in New Zealand will. No "RTP" telegram received from the United Kingdom or from Egypt will be handed to the addressee in New Zealand until the charges on" it have heen paid. (.») The rates for EFM soldier messages are as follows: Egypt, per word: United Kingdom, Sd per word; no minimum charge.
