Th.- piece selected for the opening is. a very dainty ' piece, the title 01' which is "A Romance in Ireland." We would stroii-ty reeoniour readers who have not witnessed any of Ah-. (In Thirs•dii.v "The Parish Priest" will be staged. Tht' plan for the season is now on view at Col-icr's. lh\y sales at Collier's also.

KMPIP.U PICTL'UICS. "The Sisters," a drama by the Majestic Co., featurin- the dainty Oish {{iris, is to be the dra win- card at tiie F.mpire this eveniu-. Admirers of these lavorite.- will be 'pleased with their performances iii this production, whieii was specially written for them. Some ditliuitv was met with in arran-in-for Lilian and Dorothy to appear together, but this was -ot over by the power of the Majestic clioipic book, and a very tellin- real life romance of sisterly self-sacrifice is the rcsultin- film. The plot is laid in a country village. A city visitor, well versed in the wiles of courtship, causes two of the local maidens (sisters) to fall in love with him. One he persuades to elope to the city and marries. The other in the fullness of time is mai ied to a sterlin- man of the home town. How the sacrificing love of the stay-at-home girl averts a tragedy in the domestic life of the other forms the nucleus of a drama of strong human interest and heartfelt emotions. A film that will interest many will be the "Departure of the 4th Reinforcements. ['hi! Waterfalls of Natal" (a beautiful scenic study), "Love and Business" (a comedy showing bow these two do not co-mingle), the "Kuropean Gazette,*' "Midst Woodland Shallows" (Vitagraph drama featuring Anita Stewart), etc. etc.

ROYAL PICTURES. "It's n long, long way to Tipporary," the song of our soldiers at the front, will be introduced to picture patrons at the Theatre, lioyal next Monday. This drama is one of the most touching stories told through the, medium of the moving picture film, and has proved an immense attraction in all the centres in which it has been shown. The

scenes of the Tippcrnvy boy iii the trench thinking of his. sweetheart far away over the water, and the cowardly attempt to wreck the. life of the brave young soldier, are fnilv produced and form a pretty though sad story. Box plan opens at IfoH'mann's Thursday morning.
