LABOR CONGRESS. Wellington, July 8. Tho Labor Congress to-day was attended by Labor M.P.'s, who gave short addresses. On the motion of the Auckland General Laborers' Union, it wag decided to emphatically protest against the action of various new arbitration unions in closing their books against legitimate workers, thus nullifying lha main principle of the Arbitration Act. The conference was of opin- J ion that this action was supported by the Government. A motion in favor of daylight baking was carried unanimously. The committeo that was appointed to report on foodstuffs and exploitation recommended'that the Congress enter an emphato protest against the continued and increasing exploitation, whioli was mora dangerous and inexcusable at this time of national crisis, also that the inactivity and incompetence of the Government to protect our people merits the severest censure.
