LABOR CONGRESS. By Telegraph— Press Association. Wellington, July 6. At the' Labor Congress this afternoon the following resolutions were adopted: "That in view of the bare-faced exploitation of the public by the food monopolists of this dominion that tlio conference urge' upon the Government the advisability of commandeering the •whole of the foodstuffs and to distribute the same for and in the interests of the consumers." "That a minimum wage be established in all coal mines." Wellington, July 7. At the Labor Congress to-day the only remit dealt with was one from the Napier- carpenters and joiners urging the Congress to 'convene another conference of bona fide organised labor representation, which shall 1)e confined to bona fide members of the. organisation they represent, and who shall be working in a trade and calling, no person to be allowed to be present who is getting bis livelihood from organised la'bor in any capacity, such conference to draw up a form of organisation which will consolidate the Labor forces of this country. The remit was lost.

FARMERS AND CO-OPERATION. Christchurch, July 7. The scheme set forth definitely about five years ago to establish a Federation of Farmers' Co-operative Associations in New Zealand was brought into operation in Christchurch yesterday, when a conference of delegates adopted the articles of the association of the Farmers' Co-operative Wholesale Federation, Ltd. Provisional directors of the company wire appointed and an agreement made as to the lines which the first work ..{ the concern sh.mlc Id'tw. The new company will have an authorised capital of £IOO,OOO. Its object is to bring into closer touch a fairly large number of farmers' co-operative concerns now operating in New Zealand.
