Tosh's clearing sale the herd averaged :C'i ss, this price including aged cows that sold under ,Cl. Ok Ue same day at Urenui springing heiiers made £(i 10s, springing cows JES 10s to :C(j 10s, fat cows £0 2s to ,t!S lis, according to frame, forward cows np to .€3 18s, store cows £2 14s to £3 10s (id, 2-year steers !.C3 15s to ;C4 7s 01, 2 and 21-year steers .€5 10s, yearling steers £2 2s (id to :C2 l'Os, yearling heifers 17s (id to 2ijs. On Tuesday at l.eppciton, for Mr. J. Croisky's clearing sale there was a very good attendance and bidding was spirited throughout for all lines oll'ered. The herd of cows were mixed lull, sold at irum .CS as to CIO 10s for tin- best and troni C-l 2s lid to Hi ."is for the sin ill and backward sorts, making «, good average of .€7 as for the herd of 23. Choice sprinjjini; heifers sold at from £7 lUs to .CO as, 2-year bulls £3 15s, small mixed wianers I2s, and on accounl of other vendors, springing heifers miulo C 5 17s (id to .CO las, dairy cows £lO. gelding :€lO 10s.
At Ualiutu on the same day there was a fair yarding, a good proportion being cleared during the day at the following prices:— Hough mixed wianers ids, weaner heifers 23s lid, weaner steers 30 s (id, store cows ,C2 15s to ,C 3 14s, forward cows C 5 to £5 las, fat cows £',) 4s to .£!) !ls, 3-year springing heifers C 7 Is, 2-vear in-calf heifers ,C 4 (Is (id, milk cans 25s and 2Ss.
On Wednesday, 3()tli, at Pungarchu, for Messrs Mollitt ami (iuodwiu's clearsale, lliere was a very representative attendance, buyers being present from all )>arts of the district, and several ears came through from Maiiaia. Bidding throughout iras lirisk, as will be understood when the Hit cows were, sold in 105 minutes, making a very satisfactory average of US 13s. This price, including 15 young second culvers which were showing very late in calf and all of which sold under £5. The older cows well' m great condition and reflected credit upon the vendors who had had the breeding and care of this herd for years past. The highest price paid was £lt>, but others ran consistently from CS lis to £l4s Ids, and a few old cows sold at from li 1 15s to £7 ss. Pedigree Ayrshire eows made 10 and 17 guineas, pedigree Ayrshire heifer 18 guineas. On the same day at Kaponga for Miss Kopp's sale there was a good attendance of buyers who made good bidding throughout. The dairy cows were a very fair line, selling at from £7 5s to £l4 ss, making a good average of £8 13s !)d, springing heifers made £5 to £7, empty heifers £2 to £3, small lulls £1 las to £4. At Tataraimaka on Thursday for Mr. E. L. Bott's clearing sale, there was a good attendance and bidding was again brisk, the average of £7 4s being very good for the class of cows. Empty cows made from £3 to £(i 10s. At AVaiwakaiho yards on Friday, 2w! ftist., there was a full yarding for which there was an improved enquiry. Jersey wtimer heifers made from 25s (id to 30a, weaner steers up to 2s Sd, empty 2-year [Shorthorn heifers up to £3 Is. Young store cows £2 to £3 18s, fat cows £7 1 Is to, £8 Ids, dairy cows on account of Mr. Andy Cole realised from £li 5s to £!l. On account of Mr. .10. Dixon .£5 15s to £lO, on account of Mr. ,J. Walker £4 12s (Jd to £O, on account of Mr. Bam Richards £S 15s to £!> 7s (id, choice springing heifers made from £(> 12s (id to £7 12s (id, others £3 15s to £5 ss. On the same day at Oakum for Mr. O. .1. Walford's clearing sale there wa.? a good attendance. Cows were very low in condition and brought up to £8 15s. Harrows, Carts and sundries brought good values right through the day.
