Wellington, Last Night. A fire early this morning destroyed a five-roomed house in Grafton Road, liosenea.th, owned by Thomas Gordon, of Pokcuo, Auckland, and occupied by ] Abraham Jones. .Mrs. Jones had been '.drying some clothes on a chair-back in front of the tire, and a spark must have ignited lihein. Jones woke up later to find the bedroom lull ol smoke. The kitchen was a mass of flames. He and »is wife had to get out by the window. Two children sleeping in anotlhcr room were retcned without difficulty. Practically nothing was saved of the .furniture. Small insurances were held by the State and Royal Exchange Oflices.
