TRENTHAM CAMP.
INSPECTED BY THE MINISTER. | FEW COMPLAINTS FROM THE MEN. By 'Wire —Own Correspondent.) Wellington, Last Night. To-day the Minister of Defence (the Hon. James Allen) paid a visit to the Trentham camp in company with Messrs C. J. Parr, M.P., and J. A'. Young, J[.P. The' Minister made a thorough inspection of the camp, and on his return he had something to say to your correspondent. "'! asked man after man if he had any grievances," said Mr. Allen. "1 went through the racecourse kiosk, which is being used as a hospital. I saw the sick parade and a mess parade, and I went through some of the huts and tents. I made a point of asking the ;men if they had any grievances, and the only thing any one of them asked for was a second pair of boots—of regulation boots. They had not all got a second pair. I inquired why they did not use their own boots, and they replied that those boots were not strong enough. I undersand enough boots will lie available next week to provide cverv man with a second pair."
The Minister mentioned that tho num. Vr of measles cases reported yesterday was not large. Most of the men on the sick parade were suffering from colds 'and influenza, the sort of troubles which the ordinary civilian would cure with a couple of days in bed. The majority of the men would be fit again quickly. The supply of medical men seemed to be quite sufficient, but some additional doctors were going into cami shortly. j ANOTHER TROOPER DIES.
