Many! members ol the House of Representatives have gone to their homes lor the week-end, and the legislators who remain in the city have little that is new to say with regard to the coalition proposition. They understand that tha discussion of the. 'proposals made by the Prime .Minister is proceeding as 'between the two party leaders, but tbev exneet no announcement before Tuesday next at the .earliest. The belief that there is going to be no coalition is general, but there are vorious rumors afloat regarding the possibility of the parties - agreeing upon some modified form of cooperation for the purposes of the war. Many member* would welcome any reasonable proposal in that direction, but undoubtedly the feeling is growing, that the outcome of the negotiations is not , a in "tier ti.' the first, importance nfter all, since (be procoo.!in;m in the House have proved that the parties can work together amicable for war purposes, despite the rdomieniess of the Govern- g nient's majority.
