General Botha's forces occupied Otjivarango, recently the German headquarters of the Grootfontein district, and also the district. They also occupied Okandvande, eight miles south, and liberated '23) civilians interned by Germans for political and other reasons. General Botha's eastern columns are in possession of the Waterberg district. CAMPAIGN IN EAST AFRICA. GERMAN BASE DESTROYED. London, .June 28. The Press Bureau reports that as the enemy's East African troops were active oil th« Uganda border, west of Lake Victoria Nyanza, it was decided to destroy the. base at Bukoba, on t'JC western shore of the lake. Detachments of Ilbyal Fusiliers, North Lancashires, and African Rifles, under Brigadier J. M. Stewart, left Kisuni, and aided by armed steamer met with brilliant success. The fort, a wireless installation, many boats and two machine-guns were destroyed, and a field gun and many rifles captured. The Royal 'Fusiliers ■engaged in Africa word the 2oth Battalion of Frontiersmen.
