In accordance with tlie terms/of the Education Act, 1914, which provides that four members of the General Council of Education are to be appointed by the Minister, ho has now approved of the following appointments:—Thomas Rcicl Fleming, LL.B., .M.A., under section 8 (C) of the Act; George Hogben, C.M.G., M.A., F.G.S., representing technical interests; Edward Corrigal Bank, representing the interests of agriculture; Mrs. Beatrice Esther Talbot, M.A., representing the interests of the education of girls. The above, with the following, complete the personnel of the council: Messrs W. .1. Anderson, director of education (chairman); assistant director of education not yet appointed ; V I. R. Kirk, and J. ('}. W. Aitken. (representing North Island boards); C. H. Opie and W. N. Fninklyn (representing South Island boards); T. M. Wells (representing South Island male teachers); Misses Phoebe Myers and Emily A. Chaplin (representing female teachers in North and South Islands); Miss Christina SI. Cruickshank! (representing female teachers in secondary and technical schools); I'rofessor MacMillan Brown (representing the University of New Zealand). e
