The statement ot assets and liabilities shows an excess of the former over the latter of £*),3IJIi Is 2d. In the receipts for the year, inward wharfage is set down at £1145 Os IM, and outward wharfage at £1452 -8s 7d, less railage and cartage. This makes a total of £2050 fls. Other revenue totaled £IB2O i\h ad.
A" list of the provisional awards made in favor of New Zealand cxhfbits at the i'.uianu Exhibition has been received bv Hie Prime Minister. It includes six grand prizes, 33 medals of honor. 114 gold medals. Kf, silver medals, 103 bronze medals, and ten honorable mentions. From another source it is learned that the total awards lor the 'Australian Commonwealth is ICS. The secretary of the Xewall 'Road euchre party writes:—"l am pleased to send, you the sum of £3 4s i)d. the proceeds of our euchre party and dance, including 5s donation from Mr. -West. The wet weather kept a great number away. 'Prizes were won by Mrs. Deegan and Mr. Ti. 'Lobe, Miss ,T. Cassie and Mr. J. Dueker won the booliy prizes. The music was provided by the Duckcr family. Mr. J. 'Keagh was M.C. The aentlemen's prize was donated by 'Mr. P. Butt."
A statement presented at a meeting of the Wanganui Patriotic Committee yesterday showed that tbe total funds contributed to date amount to £24,337, and disbursements to £18,459, leaving a 'balance in hand of £5887. • A committee is organising a monster ten- weeks' carnival, commencing in October, by which it is anticipated the funds will be greatly augmented.—Press Association.
Up to tlip prosont, says the Stratford Post, there is, unfortunately, no trace of the missing man, Michael Farrell, who was lost at Whaiigamomona a fortnight ago. Search parties have diligently worked the locality, hut their endeavors have proved fruitless. The missing man, who was at the time of his disappearance doing laborer's work on the roads, was 'well known in Stratford, and owned property in Rosalind Street and oh the Brookes Road, at the latter of which his wife and son arc now residing. The quarterly meeting of the /Loyal Egmont Lodge," 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held last evening, Brother J. Toms, N.G.. presiding. Two young ladies (twin sisters) were elected and duly initiated members of the order. Brother C. D. Grant was elected N.G. for the ensuing term. Brother ,T. 'Hooker was elected V.G., and Brother Arch Hooker elected secretary. P.G's. W. H. Wood and G. H. MeGahey were elected past officers to assist tne K.G. during his term of office. Brother H. E. Bennett was, elected warden. The newly elected officers wore duly installed in their offices by P.P.G.M. G. H. Mc Gahey.
