NEW FREEZING WORKS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wangnmii, June 24. The Christehureh Heat Company has purchased a site of 24 acres fronting the river, between the town and the entrance to the port, on which it is proposed, to erect up-to-date freezing works in brick, with a storage capacity equal to 200,(100 carcases. The site is eminently suitable for works. It will be connected by rail with the wharves at, Castleclilf, where a, turning basin for ocean liners is heing constructed. It is expected the works will be in operation in August, 1910. BRICKLAYERS' AWARD. Auckland, June 24. The Arbitration Court, in the bricklayers' dispute, fixed the minimum wage at Is 7id per hour, which is regarded as fair and reasonable having regard to the intermittent nature of the work.
