SHIPS FOR FROZEN MEAT.
SUFFICIENT FOR REQUIREMENTS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, June 15. Two steamers are loading meat in New Zealand ports at the present time, and five more are due to arrive in New Zealand waters before the end of this month, namely, the Kia Ora, Renmer.i, Indrabarah, lAthcnic and Tongariro. Other steamers that are due to reach the Dominion before the end of July aro the Opawa, La Blanca, Delphic, Corinthic, Somerset, Kuahine and Waiwera. "It is the turn of the tide," said the Prime Minister when mentioning these ships to a 'pressman to-day. "As far as wo can see, the supply of ships is sufficient now for our needs." Mr. Massey added that a complication had been introduced by the action of the Board of Trade by taking three ships previously assigned to New Zealand for the Argentine trade, in order to carry meat for the French troops. In return, the Board of trade had arrange! for the steamers El C'ordobes and La Blanca to take extra New Zealand cargoes, so that the Dominion lost the services of one boat en the transaction.
