GOLF.
. i*. ' NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. Much interest is being taken by golfers in the match in aid of New Zealand wounded which is to take place on the New Plymouth Club's links on Thursday afternoon. Entrance tickets may be obtained from Mr. A. Bewley and Mr. A. K. Smart, and it is hoped that a large number of Taranaki golfers will compete. Partners and opponents will be arranged at the clubhouse on Thursday. Some important alterations have been made in the New Plymouth Club's local rules. A new rule has been made providing that "a ball lying in any tree enclosure must be dropped outside the tree enclosure, and not nearer the hole under a penalty of one stroke." This rule is general except in the case of the tree enclosure running parallel with the fence on the right going to No. 3 hole, this tree enclosure being out of bounds. The enclosure behind No. 7 green which has been regarded as ground under repair when playing No. 7 hole is now out of bounds when playing No. 7 hole. PATEA v. HAWERA.
