COST OF LIVING.
To the Editor. Kir,—Didn't 'Mr. Massey speak quite eloquently when he expatiated on how ho had done nothing to stop the exploitation that commenced with the war, and how well he had succeeded in doing it? But he didn't-explain, particularly Mr. Fairlmrn. 'When Mr. Massey said Xew I Zealand was the'cheapest place to Vive in did he forget New South Wales t All I know is that it is costing me over twelve shillings a wek more for bare necessities for a family of five than it did twelve months ago. A "nice" lady, and she doesn't know mc at ordinary times, has promised to send a car for me next Tuesday. I'm going to take the ridd all right, hut I can't see anything in paying over thirty pounds a year for the privilege of keeping Massey and Co. in office, so I'm not going to vote "Reform,'' but I'm not telling the lady so. William can't help us. Joseph may. At any rate I'm going to give him a chance. —I am, etc., BEWILDERED.
