TRANSFER OF .SHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. 'Wellington, Last Wight. At a special meeting of t'.ie shareholders of the iMaoriland iSte&mship Co., Ltd., at Wellington to-dav, it was unanimously agreed to approve the directors' proposal to accept the offer of the Union Steamship Company, Ltd., to purchase the former company's fleet of three cargo steamers. The vessels concerned are tlu* Lauderdale (1214 tons-), Knnerdale (11,1!) tons), and Holmdale (207 tons). The sale will .be completed almost immediately. The Lauderdale is under charter to an Australian Company (Tiie Interstate Company, Sydney), and is engaged in the Commonwealth coastal trade. The Ennerdale lias keen running between Australia and New Zealand for some time. The Holmdale trades on the. Xew Zealand coast. Oaptata). Charlea MeArth.ur, managing director of the Maoriland Company, will continue to conduct the local agency of the Canterbury Steamship Company, the owners of the Calm, Petone, ! I!reeze, and Storm.
