WINTER SHOW.

The Taranaki Metropolitan Society's winter show on Wednesday next promises, this year, to be one of the most interesting and successful winter shows yet held. The entries are numerous, all classes being well represented. There will be many very keen competitions, and the judges will have heavy work before them. Numerous entries for exhibition only ; will prove of interest. The Government are sending a most, complete j exhibit of farm and fruit produce from • their experimental farms. This exhibit will take up a very large space in the hall, and no expense is being spared t» make the same an educational as well as a spectacular display. Government experts will be in attendance. Numerous side shows will- be in operation. In the machinery section farmers will see uo-to-date milking machines; motor cars ofvarious makes will also be on exhibition. During the course of the show the gold nugget raffle, which will be on sale as in previous years, will be most popular to those wishing to invest the nimble 2s (id to help the society along. The show is to be opeijed by the liijjht Hon, Mr. Massoy. The. visit of the Premier should make the first day's shew a record one for the district, and it is to be lioped that the country and town people ■ will turn up in force to welcome him.
