GERMAN TRANSPORT GUNK.. BRITISH SUBMARINE'S Sl' ""iX ■. London, June 3. Official: A British submarine in the Se ;l of Marmora torpedoed a large German transport on Wednesday morning in Pandemia Bay. Received June 4, 5.20 p.m. London, June 4. It is presumed that the German transport sunk by a submarine in the Sea of Marmora is the North German Lloyd's Corcovado, of 801)0 tons. ; LOSS OF THE TRIUMPH. The torpedo traversed t'he , netting and probably did little damage, Ibut a second and third missile were fired f almost simultaneously and traversed the . same hole in the netting. It was a German sub- , marine of the large type that assailed her. She was sighted early in the day J and was then fired upon, iiut escaped. ! GERMAN INSULT AVENGED. A FIGHT ENSUES. Paris, June 3. The Echo de Paris says that a German officer insulted and struck a Turkish officer on the <|ttay at Smyrna. The Tui'k killed him with a revolver. Thereupon the German officers endeavored to arrest the Turk, and a veritable battle ensued with the other Turkish olliecrs. Several wen' killed and wounded. The Yali of Smyrna hurried on tlie scene, but -had a narrow escape, as bullets were flying in all directions. TURKISH TROOPS REVOLT. GERMAN OFFICERS KILLED. - (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) Received June 4, C.15 p.m. London, June 3. A number of Turkish troops revolted, killing their German officers. Other ■ troops quelled the revolt and captured forty-three revolutionary Turkish officers, who were sent to Constantinople and executed. TURKISH REINFORCEMEN TS. Received June 4, 11.50 p.m. Cairo, June 4. The major part of the enemy's forces at Sinai and Syria have been withdrawn to assist at the Dardanelles. Many ar« deserting, as they do not desire to go to Gallipoli. HOSPITAL FOR NEW ZEALANDERS. Received June f>, 12.5 a.m. London, June 4. The New Zealand Government has secured Mount Felix, a large residence at Walton, as a hospital for New Zealand wounded.
