The Auckland Racing Club's Great Northern meeting opened to-day in perfect weather. The track was heavy and holding. There was a very large attendance of the public. The totalisator investments were ,£40,812 10s, as against £30,492 10s for tiie opening day of last year. Results: —

After recent rains the track was slightly on the holding side. Nevertheless, good racing was provided.
