Most people will still rcm-mbcr tlu: sensation that was caused in Auckland in February, 1012, bv the action of Soivn Marias Mikkclscn, a Dane, who abducted his »»<• vcars old daughter and kept her at Jlowick for four or five days until, with her hair cut short and disguised as a bov, she was rescued by the police. For that offence Milikelsen was fined £ 1(H), and now, three years later, he is applying to the Supreme Court fot the right of access to the child. The' application WW heard by Mr. Justice. Cooper at the Supreme Court tllis morning. Mr. Moore appeared for Mikeklseu in support of it, and Mr. Allan Moody to oppose it on behalf of the mother, Anna l'etrcn Caroline Margrct Mikkolson. Applicant made reference to his abduction of the child, and contended that he had been actuated by a strong desire to promote its interests. He said 'his prime object in life was to promote the interests of the little girl. The mother, in an affidavit, expressed the conviction that the father was endeavoring to obtain access to the child merely to annoy her (the mother).
