«. . , KMt'IKE PICTURES. To-night at eight o'clock described as a grand feast of pictures will lie screened at the Empire Theatre. The star leature will be Edison's dramatisation of Grace Lutz's famous novel, " The Best Man." The story is mostly a. chapter of accidents and mishaps to the lieio of the picture. George lTayuo was full of happiness at having achieved a. fortune, enabling him to marry the girl of his heart, but circumstances made it impossible for him to be at the church in time to meet his intended bride, who hail to wait in vain. ■ V,ferret Service detective, a facsimile oi the lover—who is watching foreign spit'?-, escapes with evidence of their guilt, from the same block of buildings in which liayne has his apartments, and llayue's waiting clinnlfeur drives him to the church where the marriage takes place. Tile bride does no| discover the imposition, and all liayne's efforts to prove his identity are unavailing. The detective and his bride proceed to Chicago, where, for his clever bit of work, he is appointed chief of the Secret Service Corps. This good news and rapidly acquired love for her husband brings content to the beautiful bride. The story is brimful of incidents and every scene lias its sensation. 'Supporting subjects include a laughable K •\>tone comedy, '' Noise of Bombs"; " \Var (Jraphie," "Sugar Industry," ''The .Man Who Knew*' (a Vitu'iraph d-'ania), " Lure of the fireen Tallies'' (Lul)in drama) and "Ham, the Jcemau" (Kalem comic).
