7000 MEN IN CAMP. . ] 5000 READY THROUGHOUT THE WAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. With the arrival of the ffnal drafts for tiie two new battalions to-day the Trcntham camp has reached its maximum strength. Slightly over seven thousand men, by far the largest number that lias yet been organised in New Zealand for training men for immediate service in the field, are at present in camp, composed of one infantry brigade (less .headquarters), four battalions,two regiments of mounted- rifles, new artillery units, No. 2 stationary hospital, double drafts and reinforcements for other arms of the service engaged on the (lallipoli -Peninsula. This numerical strength will be maintained almost wholly for a period of four months, when with the departure of the new battalions it will fall to something in the neighborhood of 5000, and will continue,at that level throughout the war.
