FIRE IN SYDNEY.

Tin; six-storied building of tile Australian l'ap'cr Company was gutted by lire, and several adjacent buildings damaged. Received May 28, 11.40 p.m. Sydney, May 2G. The top floors of tile Australian Paper Company's building were occupied by McDonald, and Maioney, agents for the Excelsior Printing Company; Watson, printer, and others. All were burned out, the lire seriously damaging several floors of the Australasian Temperance and {Jeneral new buildings at the rear. The occupants of flats there, including a number of leading theatricals, had an exciting time, escaping in their night adire. A number of firemen "'ore cut oil', but managed to reach safety. The Paper Company's damage included very heavy stocks of paper, and estimates the total damage, to range to nearly £50,(X) 0. They are, largely insured.
