Local farmers had their hands very full at cropping time. They were going from early morn till late at night. Townsmen could come to the rescue here. They would, of course, need to be organised. They would require direction from practical farmers, of whom there were plenty in retirement in Xew Plymouth,' anil who doubtless would be only too pleased to assist the cause. Farmers could manage all but the stocking and stacking. Townsmen organised and directed by the retired farmers, could manage this quite well.
