U.A.O.D.
The Moturoa Lodge held its quarterly meeting in the lodge room last night, when the A.D., Bro. W. S. Gilbert, presided over a good attendance of members. The sick pay passed during the quarter shows that the Order is something more than a name to a number of brothers, and is acting up to its cardinal principle of benevolence. This has been shown by the numerous calls that have been made. The nominations for officers for the ensuing half-year was proceeded with. The installation ceremony will take place next lodge night. Two new members were initiated into the Order, and after a brief discussion it was decided to srovide social evenings during the winter on quarter nights. After the usual lodge business a light supper was served, songs and recitations being given by Bros. Groombridge, P.D.P., H. C. Glendining, and 11. Millow. Bro. V. n. Beal, P.D.P, in a few wellehosen words, proposed the toast of Bro. If. C. Glendining, who is shortly leaving for Trentlmm. This was very' enthusiastically honored, as "Bro. Glen." has always been very popular, and he will lie greatly missed from Moturoa Lodge. The singing of the National Anthem brought a very pleasant evening to a close.
