THE 'FRISCO EXHIBITION.

NKW ZEALAND'S COUTH'. Wellington, May '2l. Warm praise for New Zealand's exhibit at tlm Panama Exliiliition is contained in a letter received to-day by the Prime' Minister from Mr. T. (!. Slnllsmith, head of the exhibiting commission which visited miv Zealand and Australia last year. Mr. Stallsmith is at present in San Francisco engaged in active work in connection with the exhibition, and he confirms the statement of visitors that' New Zealand is getting good value for the sum of .£20,1)00 or so spent upon the Dominion exhibit.

"It is mv belief that New Zealand lias more artistically and comprehensively displayed her resources and activities in all directions than any other foreign nation participating in this department," writes Mr. Stallsmith. "This is especially true when taking into consideration the great difficulties under whicll your commissioner' lias labored. Few men could bave accomplished so much and got euch splendid results with the funds available as your commissioner, Mr. 10. Clifton, and bis associates. The entire exhibit is installed in an attractive court in lite Palace of Agriculture, and your primary products are displayed in a very tasteful and attractive way. The exhibit is causing much favorable comment; in fact, I have never heard a word of adverse criticism respecting it. On the contrary, everything has been complimentary."

Mr. Stallsmith adds tliat lie believes New Zealand's participation in the exhibition is going to bear frond fruit in increased trade with the United States and other American countries. "We alj deprecate the unfortunate and disastrous Continental troubles involving flreat (Britain and her colonies," he says, "and realise the sacrifices that have been made by your good selves to participate in this great celebration, and I wish to 'emphasise as strongly as possible the feelii'ig of sincere appreciation of our country and of our people."
