Ran-, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 'Barr, of the Munaia road, will regret to learn that she is at present an inmate of the Hawera hospital, having undergone a serious operation on Saturday last. Her condition is causing her relatives extreme anxiety, b.ut we trust she will soon be on the mend and back again amongst us. Three more members of our community have enlisted for the front, namely, Me-rs I<\ Bentley, 11. Melville and B. Kaiwclid'e. I hear there are a good many more who intend sending in their names shortly. At St. John's Church on Sunday evening the Eev. C. Blair delivered to a crowded congregation a strong appeal to young men to enlist.
