OPTIMISM AND CONFIDENCE. RUSSIANS MAIvE PROGRESS. (Times and Sydney Sun Services.) London, May 17. The Times' correspondent at Warsaw says that during the desperate operations on an extremely large scale the Allies must be content to wait results, placing in Russia the same faith that she lias shown in the liritisli and French during periods of uncertainty. He had talked with high officials from the front, and everywhere Was optimism and confidence. They declare that the army is better than ever before, and it is unnecessary to stress the passing phase of the situation. I'etrograd, May 17.
