New Zealand is at present divided into thirteen education districts, and the suggestion is to reduce this number to seven, eight, or nine. The evidence will be of a nature to justify TV.ranaki's continued existence as a si para to district of increased size, viz., to include tin: whole of the province. TaraniiKi was one of the first, education districts in the Dominion, and the witnesses will point out to the Commission the excellent results always achieved, New- Plymouth's suitability as a ctlitre, and facilities provided for travelling through the district, etc.
It is expected that the sitting will last, the whole of to-day, and a portion of Wednesday.
