DISTURBING A JUSTING. By Telegraph—rrcss Association. Wellington, May 13. _ At the Magistrate's Court today Patrick Callaglnui was charged with disturbing a political gathering addressed by Mr. Fisher at the Mission Hall, Torv Street, on December 4, 1!)14. The case was partially heard in January and on subsequent dates, and for various reasons has been adjourned from time to tune. For the defendant, Mr. ,1. AlcGrath called several witnesses to prove the rowdy nature of the meeting, and submitted that Callaghan was not to blame. Mr. Cooper, S.M., entered a conviction with a fine of .€2, costs lis, in default fourteen days in gaol. EDUCATION COMMISSION.
Wellington, May 13. The Education Commission sat here to-day. .Evidence was taken from members of the Education Board, the mayor and representatives of the lnstiute* of Teachers, who favored an amalgamation of .Marlborough and Wellington' to give improved opportunities for promotion. Other witnesses asked to retain the Marlborough Board, or, in the alternative, to amalgamate with Wellington. All parties were strongly opposed to joining Nelson.
