NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOR BOARD.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Xew Plymouth Harbor Hoard was held yesterday, when there were pror-ont: Messrs .'l. IS. Connott (chairman). N. King. R Doekrill, .1. MeCluggage, C. K. Bellringcr, C. A. Wilkinson, M.P., J. Marx and E. Maxwell. Mr. Wilkinson moved that 'Mr. Connott occupy the chair for the forthcoming year. He congratulated him on his re-election and on the. good work he had done on the. Hoard, lie also congratulated Messrs King and Eellringor on their re-election. Mr. J. Marx seconded, endorsing the previous speaker's remarks. Mr. M'cCluggage supported. 'Mr. Connott briefly replied, declaring his intention of doing h's best for the Hoard, and expressing the hope that as they now had sullicient water the big steamers would come along before theend of the year. It was decided to grant the chairman an honorarium of £SO.

MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting followed. Formal notification was received of Mr. Wilkinson's re-election to the Board. Accounts amounting to £1302 ISs Id were passed for payment. MOKE INFORMATION WANTED. Mr. Wilkinson asked if it would not be possible for the engineer to prepare a chart showing the dredging work done during each month. He would move that the engineer prepare a report each month dealing specifically with the dredging work done, in detail; the workin progress to be shown in color. The fullest possible information should be available at the Board table at all times. Mr. Hellringer seconded, and suggested that the report detail the work done with the buckets and with the. 'pumps. Mr. Wilkinson pointed out that at present when discussing the work under progress they had not the necessary information before them. This was carried. It was also decided to adopt Mr. Rellringer's suggestion and request the engineer to report the hours spent on each class of work during the month. HARBORMASTER'S REPORT. The harbormaster reported that during the past month 23 steamships and one auxiliary schooner, aggregating 2(!,874 tons, arrived at the port, the departures being 21 steamships and one echoonov, aggregating 28.088 tons. The imports amounted 'to 0233 tons, 2014 tons of which were coal. The exports were, HIS tons, making a total of 7357 tons handled. The, report was adopted.

SUPERIXTEXDKNT'S REPORT. The superintendent of works reported that during the past month the Paritutu dredged on 20 days, the net time being 202'/!, hours. Sixteen and a-lialf loads were lifted with the buckets from the third basin cut. which has now been carried out to a line with the end of the wharf. Twenty-six loads were lifted with the sand pump and ten loads with the buckets from the fairway, a total ,)f 52 Joads. equal to 21,000 tons. I he fairway had been divided into three outs, each l.r> feet wide, and a start made Horn May » from the eastern boundary. The dredging of the basin was still much obstructed bv boulders the Panlntu having lifted 134 and the I nomas King P2O during the past month redgmg was stopped for two davs through rough weather. The Thomas King worked on 22 davs and lifted 134 oads of sand, equal to 10,720 tons, in lw '; hours, and was also engaged for <>o liours in lifting boulders. The diver and crow were engaged on 17 davs in ranovmg boulders and' l.lastin".
