THE GRAXD LODGE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 12. The Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand opened its annual communication this morning, M.W. Bro. Uougall, Grand Master, presiding. The report of the Board of Benevolence stated that £340 bad been dispensed in casual relief during the year, and that three sums of £25(1, .€224, and £2OO had been raised by circular appeal. The report of the annuity board showed the capital value of the fund to be £24,447, of which £ 181:1 had been added during the year. The total annual charge upon the. fund was .-CS-J.-;. A margin of .€21(1 for the year existed, for the creation of new annuities. The report of the board of

general purposed showed that the amounts to the credit of the various funds were:— Annuity fund ,€24,4 47, fund of benevolence! ,€3014, circular appeals ,€l(i(>4, special war benevolent fund ,€S!)7, representation €512, general fund .€ll37—total £35,374.

The report of the board of general purposes approved the proposal for the formation of a new Masonic district to be known as "Ruapehu," extending from the Manawatu Uivcrto the boundary of Taranaki.

The report urged upon the craft the scheme initiated by the (irand Master for the creation of a special war benevolent fund for the relief of Masons or their dependents sull'ering through the war, and towards which the sum of £1353 had been voluntarily subscribed. The sum of €IOO has been 'forwarded to the (irand Lodge of France towards its war relief schemes.
