MURDER AND PLUNDER OF CHRISTIANS.
London, -May 10. An American missionary at Urumiah, in a letter on April 8 says t'.iat all the Christian villages have been plundered and burnt by the Turks) and Kurds. A thousand persons have 'been massacred, and two thousand have died of disease. Two hundred Turks are carrying on the massacres. The Russian Vice-Consul at Salinas reports continual murders, outrages and abductions at Salinas anil Gulpashan. By the Turkish Consul's orders twentyfive prominent citizens were conveyed to the graveyard at Gihpas\ian and butchered like animals in the presence of their relatives. One minister was crucified and burnt alive, and a bishop was Ranged. Refugees in the Catholic mission were taken before the Turkish Consul and sixty-four were, beheaded. Several parties of Christians in Salinas were massacred with their arms tied together. In other instances the victims were tied to ladders, with their 'leadK sticking through the rungs, and beheaded.
