KUGBY UNION REPORT. By Telegraph—Presa Association. Wellington, May 10. The ttt'cnly-t'iird iu mial report of the New Zealaid Hugl-y Union states that owing to the outbreak of war the operation of the agreement for' the interchange of matches iij definitely postponed. The report added that the sum of £2(10 was distributed among alliliated unions for encouragement of Rugby in primary schools. The general fund now stands at £8!)1S, showing a deficiency on tin; year's, working of £l4lO Is id. Referring to the war and its relation to footballers, the report states that ii was the union's desire and also the desire of the unions in New South Wales and Queensland, to encourage the enlistment of players. With that end in view it will postpone all touring of team-*, but sees no reason why interest in the game should not be maintained. There will be a curtailment, if not an actual stoppage, of inter-union matches, bu! club games should continue as usual. There is no dearth of younger players to fill the places of those gone to the front.
