ELTHAM AND DISTRICT NEWS.
(From Our South. Taranaki Correspondent.) Mr. ~T. Green on Friday received an intimation from the Adjutant-* iencral of the New Zealand forces stating that his son l lerald was among the men wounded at the Dardanelles. The nature of the injury was not stated. The young man was a member of the Otago infantry, and left tlie Dominion witit the second reinforcements. Telegrams were also received from tlie Hons. W. F. Massev and J. Allen expressing regret. This is the first news to hand of any local volunteers being injured. Mrs. A. McWilliam, wife of Mr. A. McWilliam, of Omoana, underwent an operation at a private hospital in New Plymouth recently. On Saturday her condition was serious. Farmers in this district are all expressing much satisfaction with the glorious weather that prevails. With tlie heavy dews that are falling the lack: of rain is not being felt. i The Mangatoki Patriotic Committee have decided to donate a further £SO to the Belgian Relief Fund and £ls to the Poor of Great Britain and Ireland Relief; Fund.
