The Evening Standard states that the German note circulation is onlv halt' covered by coin and 'bullion. The value of 100-mark notes has fallen to 85 marks, and touched 78 marks in Holland. Many Danish hanks are refusing' German notes altogether. Mr. Neil Primrose announced in the House of Commons that the figures for April showed a great diminution of the importation of cotton into Germany.
THE WAR CREDIT. OPPOSED BY SOCIALISTS. Received May 7, 1.15 a.m. Amsterdam, May 0. A considerable minority of Socialists in the Reichstag opposed Toting the full war credit which the Government demanded. At a series of votes taken at a meeting of Socialists 'prior to the session 23 opposed voting the credit, but decided by 01) to 30 to support the whole Budget.
