IXone of the, defendants appeared. .Stanley Jiridger, for riding a bicycle in Devon Struct without a light at C.5 ■Ji.m.j was convicted and fined r> :i and 7s costs. C. Beekiiessinger was convicted and fined £1 and 7s costs for driving a motorcar in Devon .Street without a number. Harold Medley, for riding a motor- 1 bicycle in Devon .Street without a lig'it at (i p.in., was convicted and fined 10s, and costs 7s. WAXDERIXO CATTLE. The Taranaki County Council (Mr Ron. Qui..am) proceeded against A. Jl. (!ilhert, milk-vendor (Mr. Austin Bew-. ley), for allowing 2!) cows and 1 bull to wander on the Ycale Jload. Deitndant was convicted and fined X'l anil costs 17s (id. A further charge of allowing a. hull to wander on a public road 1 was withdrawn. A MAINTENANCE CASE. S. L. Simons applied to have, his maintenance order affecting Alink 'Simons cancelled, as he had since been married. During the hearing it was mentioned that the father had gone away and was supposed to he in Australia, the, reason for his leaving 'being stated to be the ill-feeling of. the sons towards their 'mother'. Mr. lion. Quilliam, for Mrs. Simons' further contended that one of the applicant'* reasons for getting married was to evade the order. His Worship refused the application lor the order' to he cancelled.
