Also started: 2 Fagot, 4 Okalm, (i Ruffiana. King's (.'uard led, (Jkahu'ljcing left. Braeburn came up at the hack stretch. A good finish resulted in a dead heat, with Golden Water ten lengths away. Kuffiana fell. Time, 3inin 22sec.

Also started: 5 Bonny Dream, 3 Rangitiro, 4 Eligible, 8 Sicily, 7 Hyettusaa, 1" Hylami. Desert Gold' led aii excellent start, followed by Nylanii, Croesus and Dribble. Dribble moved up at the entrance to the straight. Desert Gold came through, and won easily by two lengths; a'length and a half separated second and third horses. Time, limn 2lscc.

BURKE MEMORIAL STAKES, of 400 sovs; one mile and a quarter. — 1 0. L. Stead's Sauci 1, 0 D. MacXamara's Allan Doone '2, 5 A. B. Williams's Multiply 3. Also started: 2 Bonny Rigs;, 1 Ventura, 4 Mummer, 7 Indigo. 3 Birkline. 10-Bel-dame, 9'Hyottus, 8 Maniaroa. The field got away well. Beldame and Maniaroa went to'the front with Ventura, Allan Doone and Mummer in that order. Beldame and Maniaroa took the lead, with Ventura next. Allan Doone moved up at the back and led into the straight. Here Sauci showed up, winning by a head. Multiply was half a length away, with Mummer fourth. Time, 2min 7sec!
