MEDICAL SCHOOL FOR DUNEDIN.
COYKRNMIWT HELP WAXTKD. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, \ T estorday. A deputation from the University Council waited on Mr. Rhodes to-day and asked for financial assistance with regard to the acquisition by the University of a site for the proposed now branch in connection with a medical school. They asked for £I<MM for the site. I'OOO for a site for a mortuary, and .subsidisation for lecturers' fees. The Minister said lie could not promise £IOOO. He thought .CilOO would be sudieient, and that the matter should stand over until next year. While reserving a definite statement on subsidising the lecturer's fees, he expressed the. opinion that it was outside the function of the Health Department.
