The Hon. J. A. Millar, who has boon indisposed lately, is now greatly improved in health (says the New Zealand Herald).
Surgeon-Major C. K. Maguire, superintendent of the lAuckland Hospital, wio proceeded to Trentham a few weeks age, lias been appointed ollieer commanding the field ambulance attached to the sth Reinforcements.
The Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey has accepted the position of Honorary Colonel to the -Ist Regiment of the New Zealand National Reserve.
By the last 'Frisco mail Mr. T. Lindsay Buick received word that he had been elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, London. This honor has been conferred on Mr. Buick in recognition of the valuable service he has rendered to the cause of historical study in the Dominion by the several works he lias already published in that connection.
