The members of the Auroa Club made a start last week to play for a trophy presented by T. K. Julian, and some very keen and exciting contests ensued, as the following results indicate:—MeCall 14 v. Influenza has got a strong hold in the district at present. Fortunately, the busy time is over, so most of the subjects arc able to nurse their complaint. One of the most picturesque sights in our district now is the lagoon in the Kaupokonui (Auroa) property. The new concrete house for the manager of the factory is nearing completion, and adds another mausoleum to our district. The general opinion i 3 that there is only one small fault with it, namely, i should hubby, get obstreperous, and Jus better half takes to him with the broom, bis chances of getting out'of the windows are small. The ladies' ball on Wednesday night is grhig to be (n'oubliez pas) out on its own. i
