GERMANS CLAIM THE HONORS.
A REPORT HADE TO ORDER. Received April 20, 3.15 p.m. ■ Berlin, April 25. A communique states: "We, in further successes near Ypres, maintained the ground captured on the 23rd. and continued the attack eastward. We stormed the Solaert farmhouse, west of St. Julien, which is three miles north-east of Ypres, also Kersohvere, and advanced victoriously against Grafeastafel, taking a thousand Englishmen prisoners and capturing seven machine-guns. We repulsed the British counter-attack on our position west of St. Julien, the British suffering most severe losses. British -it-' tempts to attack Weetmill were stifled at birth. The French suffered a severe defeat south-west of Koinbres. We broke through several lines. Nightly attempts to recapture the ground miscarried. We captured twenty-four Flench officers, 1000 men, and seventeen guns.
BELGIUM'S RECONSTRUCTION. VATICAN INFLUENCE PROMISED. Received April 20, 5.30 p.m. London, April 26. The Pope haß promised the Belgian Minister that the Vatican will use its influence to obtain the integral reeonstitution of Belgium. A TAUBIi BOMBS GERMANS. Paris, April 25. A Taube threw several bombs on Noyon, which fell oil the German outposts. The result is unknown. GERMAN PRISONERS WELL TREATED. Paris, April 25. Details of the treatment of German prisoners in France show that they have remarkable comforts and plenty of food. The newspapers pay a glowing tribute to the Canadians' marvellous dash.
