The news was brought to Now Plymouth last night by an employee of Mr. M. .Jones, but no particu. lars were available further than that the body was found frozen, and that t.iere were no indications of Mr. Pcarca having; met with an accident. .Searching, which had proceeded actively throughout Friday, was continued on Saturday. As soon as lie received newi on J'Yiduy night that a man was lost on the mountain Sergeant Dale, of Stratford, organised a search party about 40 strong of residents of Stratford, Eltham and Rowan, and was joined by Constable Boulton of New Plymouth. The party spent the greater part of .Saturday searching. The party broke up into two lots and different localities were worked over, but without result. Early yesterday morning other search parties went out, and one of these found the .body of Mr; Pearce in the afternoon. Mr. Peareo was a member of the staff of tlife Wellington Post Office and wan spending a holiday at % Dawson'* Falls house. He was about 23 years old. '
