NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. There was only a fair entry for the first round of the Medley Cup competition played on the New Plymouth Club's links at Waiwakaiho yesterday afternoon. The best scores returned were: W. P. Nicoll 95—12—83 W. H. Wood 104-20—84 Rev. A. B. Chappell 136—26-110 A medal round for the St. Andrew's Cross will take place to-morrow afternoon. The first match for ladies of the. season will be played on Tuesday, and" it will count as the first match for a rose bowl, which has been presented by Mrs. "Walker. For this trophy six medal rounds will be played, and the winners will play off.

TARAHUA CLUB; A medal handicap was played on the Tarahua links yesterday afternoon, when there was a good entry. The greens were in good order, but a high wind was against good golf. The best scores were:—■ p Grey 100—14—86 J.'cannell 110-24-86 D. Morey 110-24-86 A play-off was arranged, and P. Grey won. A medal handicap will be played on the Tarahua links to-morrow afternoon. WITIORA CLUB. A men's foursomes was played on the Witiora Club's links yesterday afternoon, but the scores will not be available until j to-day.
