THE BELGIAN FUND.
PUKEHO'S FINE EFFORT. On Friday night residents of Pukelio .held a basket social in the hall, as the result of which £lB 5s was handed over to the Belgian Relief Fund. The i social was organised by the School Committee in order to pay off a small debt on the piano, and the committee is now able to hand the piano over to the incoming committoefree of debt, besides donating the substantial balance above mentioned to the relief fund. Fourteen baskets were brought to the social, and bidding was spirited, the highest urice, £2 Is Od, being brought by Miss M. Burr's basket. Dancing was kept going until a'bout f> a.m., Mr. Geo. Taylor making a successful M.C. Messrs. Egg'eton and Fenton provided the dance music. During the evening Rangi gave the cake-walk'. Mr. A. Taylor was the secretary, and, with his fellow-commit-teemen and the residents of the district, is to be congratulated on the results.
