CORRESPONDENCE.
THE PENALTY FOR EXPRESSING AN OPINION. (To the Editor.) .Sir,—Thanks very m%ch for the dressing down you gave me under the heading " Current Topics," for daring to express my opinion openly. I deeply regret that I am unable to reply to you move fully at present, as I am off on a few weeks' holiday, which, I may point out, is much more congenial than trying to hold a man down who has lost his head, because he happens to be one of those' who have been, preaching salvation via the breakwater, and I have had the audacity to doubt it. If you will kindly wait until I return, I will be only too pleased to deal with you. In the meantime, all that I can do is to send in a block of ice for th« purpose of keeping your head cool. So good-bye for the present.—l am, etc., AUSTIN E. DUGDALE. Waitara, April 2. .
