Prisoner was admitted to probation for twelve mouths upon the usual terms, and upon the special condition that he paid .€77 Ss 2d, the costs of the prosecution. A rule nisi was granted by the Supreme Court at Hamilton, on 12t'h March, 1!)15, calling upon Phillips to show before the Court of Appeal cause' why he should not be struck oil' tiie roll, upon the ground that he had been guilty of professional misconduct. The Court suspended Phillips for two years, and ordered him to pay £ls 15s costs and disbursements. CHARGE AGAINST A MOTORIST. Invercargill, Last Night. At the Police Court Louis Fosbemlor, a fanner was charged with causing by culpable negligence the death of William Jackson. Accused was driving a motor car on the North Road on Easter Monday night, and ran down a spring cart driven by Jackson, who sustained fatal internal injuries. It is alleged that Fosbender was on the wrong side of tho road. The case is proceeding. ALLEGED TOTE FRAUD. Foilding, Last Night. At the S.M. Court to-day A. Simpkin was committed for trial on a- charge "f false pretences. He presented a £5 ticket at the totalisator at the Feilding races on Easter Monday purporting to be on the winning horse of the sixth race, whereas it was really on a horae with a similar number in the third race. The sum collectable was £52 las, but in official refused to pay, and got Simpkin to sign the ticket. CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Invercargill, Laist Night. Louis Fostender was committed for trial for the alleged manslaughter of William Jackson by the collision of a motor car and dray.
