BRITISH SAILORS' GALLANT EXPLOIT. SMYRNA EXPECTING ATTACK. EN TRANCE TO UOSPIIORUS MINED. London, April 20. Two pickefr-boats on the night of April 18, under Lieutenant Eric Robinson, with volunteer crews, attacked the submarine under very heavy, fire from the fort a few hundred yards away, and also from many smaller guns. They torpedoed the submarine and rendered it useless. The Majestic's \piekot-boat was sunk by guntire. The Triumph's picket-boat rescued the crew. 'A man who died from wounds' was the only casualty. Lieutenant Robinson has 'been promoted to commander. The Daily Mail correspondent at Salonika reports that civilians have departed *from Smyrna in the expectationTuat 'the allied fleets will land forces. The r garrison remains', and preparations for defence are being rushed. . F A correspondent at Salonika says the Russians have mined the entrance to the Bosphorus, and two Turkish destroyers have been blown up and sunk. The remainder of the fleet is unable to enter owing to the fact that mine-sweopera are rapidly exhausting their coal.
