Against the Turks.
A WELL-EQUIPPED TORPEnOER. MADE IN GERMANY. Received April 21, 5.150 p.m. London, April 21. The Turkish torpedo boat Chios was thoroughly modern and fast, and has torpedo-tubes and maxims. It was made in Germany in 1!)1(). Bombs were left aboard to blow up the boarding party. One, which was intended to ignite when the door of the chief cabin opened, slightly injured two men. The deck wns littered with English charts, German novels, and French picture postcards of it very Parisian type. THE PERSIAN GULF CAMPAIGN. London, April 20. The Marquis of Crewe, in the House of Lords, said the enemy in the Persian Gulf was well trained. Their trenches were invisible at forty yards. Tim enemy's casualties on April 14 were 2500.
