Aerial Warfare.
HOW A TAUBE WAS BEATEN. BRITISH AEROPLANE SUCCESS. London, April 20. Mr. Shepherd, an American correspondent at the British headnuarters, relates that a Taube flew over Ypres on Sunday and enticed two British aeroplanes over the German lines. Tie Britishers were soon enveloped in clouds of shrapnel smoke. Finally, ignoring the shrapnel, they climbed abovb the Taube. which withdrew over the British trenches. The British aviators fired, whereupon the Taube circled lower, the British following. In the TauWs final effort to read home it was sandwiched between the fire of the aeroplanes and that of the trenches, and suddenly crashed to the ground, the pilot being killed and the observer taken prisoner. The contest lasted an hour and a half.
ZEPPELIN OFF LOWESTOFT. J FRUITLESS ATTACK ON A STEAMER. - Received April 21, 0.40 p.m. Copenhagen, April 21. The steamer Uranins, from England to Halmstad, encountered a Zeppelin off Lbwcstoft on a date unmentioned. The airship followed the steamer for some distance and dropped two bombs, but I without eil'ect. FRENCH AEROPLANES IN GERMANY. STORES SET OX FIRE. Received April 21, 11.25 p.m. Zurich, April 21. Four Frcneli aeroplanes successfully bombed the Mullheim and Habiheim stations, and fired immense stores at ' Mannheim. ANOTHER RAID IN GERMANY. Received April 21/11.25 p.m. ! Amsterdam, April 21. German advices state that a hostile Rinnan yesterday dropped five bombs on i Kandern, and six on Lorrach, near the railway station. Several persons were Injured.
ANOTHER ZEPPELIN AT SEA. "Received April 21, 11.25 p.m. London, April 21. A trawler sighted a Zeppelin off Flamborontrh Head at daybreak yesterday, speeding in a westerly direction.
